Billy HILLs coach outside the Melbourne Hotel (Section 400) Charleston, the schoolboy is Irwin FARIS, who many years later wrote the book ' Charleston It's Rise and Decline ', a valuable and entertaining social history of NZ unique goldmining era, the coach in the rear was BALLAMs coach, and the building in the rear of Ballams coach was the Fire Brigade Station, site was on corner of Princes Street and Camp Street, the Melbourne Hotel had twelve bedrooms, built in 1867 and destroyed by fire in 1904
