Inangahua Junction Hotel.

Inangahua Junction Hotel  (note gold dredge tailings in the river), Inangahua means ' abounding in whitebait ', this is the largest tributary of the Buller River and joins the main river 29 miles from Westport on the south side, this river provided the Maoris with great quantities of the fish, which were preserved for winter use, some observers considered that the river had larger river stocks of whitebait than any other river on the coast   (print by courtesy of Cobb ROBERTSON)
