Arthur Llewellyn Evans Service No. 6/2121, World War 1, 1914-1918 of Granity, New Zealand was born at Stockton, New South Wales, Australia on 26 May 1893. At the time of enlistment in 1915 he was employed as a Bricklayer for the Westport Coal Company at Granity. His parents were John and Louisa Evans of Granity and his next of kin is given as his father. Arthur embarked on 13 June 1915 with the 5th Reinforcements of the Canterbury Infantry Battalion. His discharge is dated 13 April 1919. He served in the Balkan, Gallipoli Campaign and also in Western Europe. He was awarded the 1914-15 Star, The British War Medal and the Victory Medal.Around 1920 Arthur was living in Masterton, New Zealand.
